Starland District
IDA Honorable Mentions in Print/ Collateral Material and Multimedia Brand Identity

Savannah does not currently have an entertainment district. Starland District is a made-up entertainment district for the Starland/ Thomas Square area in downtown Savannah, Georgia. The goal of the project was to create a branding identity and visual applications to communicate the entertainment district to the community and tourists.
This multi-dimensional project highlights the Starland District and elevates it to the same level as Broughton and River Street. The Starland District is well known to locals and students, but not to tourists. The design of the logo is inspired by the old Starland Dairy with its iconic red star that would be represented on milk bottles. A soft, nostalgic color palette is used throughout the branding system that allows viewers to feel welcomed, yet curious as to what the area has to offer.
Expanding the visual applications, environmental graphics and signage were also created to be placed throughout the Starland Area. Each sign highlights the top places to eat, shop, visit, and drink with each category being assigned a color. Wooden signs placed on street corners directing tourists to different locations to enjoy, and when it turns night, colored neon signs are visible on the entrance to the highlighted locations.
A projection mapping video was created to be displayed at Starland Yard, one of the Starland Districts most popular areas to eat, drink, and hang out. The projection mapping enhances the space and draws tourists in.
A merchandise package was also created for visitors who want to remember their time in the Starland District.
